Hello everyone! I hope all of you had a great Christmas and New Year. It was good to see so many of you at our Christmas celebrations at the Cathedral. Remember that this Sunday is the Feast of the Epiphany--a feast that commemorates the Visit of the Magi to the baby Jesus. Eucharists are at 8:00, 9:00 and 11:15 am.
Beginning on Sunday, January 13, at 3:00 pm the Cathedral will offer Choral Evensong every Sunday. (For those of you who like to come to the weekday evensongs, the Cathedral will only offer evensong two days a week--Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 5:30 pm. Please note the earlier time.) On Sunday, January 13, since it is the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord, we will have a guest preacher, and a wine and cheese reception will follow in the Walker Room.
In speaking with Allie, we thought we would gather as a group on Sunday, January 20, for Choral Evensong at 3:00 pm, and then we would go to North for a social gathering around 4:00 pm. If you want to come, just come to the Cathedral for evensong at 3:00, or catch up with us at North at 4:00. All are welcome.
And . . . I know we just finished celebrating Christmas, but Lent is just around the corner. Ash Wednesday is actually February 6 this year! Easter is on March 23--we could actually have snow. We thought that during Lent we might gather for some type of book study. We can discuss this, as well as other ideas, on Sunday, January 20.
I hope to see many of you on January 20!
